The obverse of these banknotes features the coat of arms of Vietnam and a portrait of former president Ho Chi Minh. Their reverse depicts various designs such as the One Pillar Pagoda, Off-shore oil rigs, the Tri An Dam, the Hai Phong port, ships cranes, an elephant, and the Dong Nai River.
