I served in Vietnam 1967-1968 with the U.S. Army. I got this note when I got paid (we did not receive U.S. dollars there). I remember clearly that they had bundles of crisp, uncirculated bills to pay us. I did not spend this bill and I sent it to my dad who had a bill collection in addition to coins and stamps. When he received it, he marked in pencil the date that he received it on the back of the bill. I certify that this bill never went into circulation.
